Coffee PR and its definition

06.07.2015

Coffee PR is your chance for a talk. What kind of talk? The talk about business, which includes asking pointed questions leading to solutions.

Festina lente

All relations, including B2B and B2C, are H2H. These relations lead to good solutions and business benefits. Therefore, I always try to be available for such talks and I have been practising coffee PR for years. I usually have one-to-one talk at coffee PR, but recently I have had such a meeting with more people. Coffee PR is a very comfortable talk without any commitments. Nobody is your boss. Nobody appraises you on anything. No pressure. We take time discussing PR issues, following the Roman PR Rule – festina lente.

What drives talks

What drives talks in business is knowing another person. I believe that we don’t talk enough before starting a cooperation or any business together. So I initiate such talks myself, sometimes focusing on a determined market (such as Dental Coffee PR). I’m sure that initiating and running talks is a key skill at PR about which Paweł Tkaczyk wrote in 2011.

Magic ingredient

It is proved that coffee smell can reduce stress, so it is a natural ally of Public Relations. People should be relaxed while talking. A coffee table can create a friendly atmosphere and people sitting at it become partners. Such a talk is a great pleasure. What’s more, it triggers changes, self-development and further business research. So coffee is only a symbol both of a good moment and good energy.

What do you need it for?

Coffee PR is my work tool which I can use to educate people about PR, because the level of knowledge about PR is still very poor. I am curious about people who I meet and this way I learn about their needs. As a result, I can write posts on my blog and articles which respond to real people’s interests. Sometimes, while sipping my cappuccino, I wonder if a person is ready for PR or not. This talk lets us avoid disappointments and gives us an opportunity to keep a valuable relation. And it doesn’t have to be a business relation. As you know, not everybody is for everybody and coffee PR is a two-way tool for checking this:

– my interlocutor can make sure if I am the right PR specialist for him/her

and

– I get the answer to the question if this person is ready for PR.
